Synopsis
A generation of forty-somethings, having lived its youth in the eighties and nineties, now finds itself in the midst of an ideological crisis caused by the exaltation of economic success of the individual. TODAY – on the verge of maturity – it realizes that the moment of reckoning has come and it is necessary to rediscover a sense of “togetherness.” In a time like the present when economic crises, the threat of new, hitherto unknown diseases, natural calamities and international terrorism have rendered the sense of life more fragile and precarious, the need to be not alone, to be part of a Group, is more important than ever.Today, death is not some ghost far-off in the future and the realization of personal ambitions and financial security is not enough anymore. The need for protection and immortality must be sought elsewhere as well, as in the protection of others. With the decline of the traditional family, now definitely an institution of the past, these relationships can be found in friendships and in the creation of extended, not conventional families.
It is in this sense that our characters find themselves confronting the issue of SEPARATION and the impossibility of accepting it.
What would happen if, instead of hiding, denying, blocking out its changing sentiments, the Couple were to put everything out in the open, if it stopped withholding its innermost feelings and finally confronted itself with all its secrets, hopes, desires for new relationships and emotions?
How can we NEVER SEPARATE, even when everyone and everything around us asks us to do so?
