I was inspired to make "Dinola" because it is close to my heart. I wanted to re-enact the emotions that people like my grandmother actually lived through. I chose to use real people and not actors to bring out real emotions. This film is a fictional story that is based on true events and is shot similar to a documentary. The story portrays difficulties and old now dying customs of the village I am from. This exotic and original history of my region is a story which has never been revealed. This is first time that this history is shown to the eyes of the public. This film is based on the real life and experiences of my ancestors.. about my grandmother. The difficulties experienced by my grandmother shocked me and felt I compelled to share with the world.
