Synopsis
In the middle of a vacant lot stands an old building inhabited by some rather strange people.The entire Tapioca family.
Mr and Mrs Interligator, a couple of dreadful snobs.
The Kube brothers who do nothing but manufacture little round boxes that moo when turned upside down.
Mr Potin, holed up with his frogs and snails.
And Miss Plusse, a lady of uncertain virtue.
Their primary concern is food.
All are clients of the butcher shop downstairs, below the DELICATESSEN sign which creaks rustily in the wind.
Below that, down in the sewers live the Troglodistes. They are rebels, vegetarians.
Then there is the butcher's daughter, Julie, a sort of Snow White surrounded by these ghouls. She plays the cello.
One day a fellow named Louison arrives on the scene. He's a nice guy who plays the musical saw.
The two were destined to meet...
