Frankie is 15 and preparing for fatherhood. He is determined to be the best dad ever, but as his day goes on, he starts to realise how impossible this will be for him.
Darren Thornton founded Calipo Theatre & Picture Company in 1994 and has been Artistic Director since then. He co-wrote and directed LOVE IS THE DRUG as a six-part TV drama series for RTE in 2004. The series was based on the original Calipo play and won an Irish Film & Television Award for Best Drama Series in 2005. His short film script FRANKIE received funding under the RTE/IFB Short Cuts scheme in 2006 and was shot early in 2007.
