Newcastle is celebrating a week of American trade and friendship. An unscrupulous American speculator comes to the tranquil town hoping to buy up an entire section of it. He seems to be getting everything he wants — until he meets up with Finney and a bizarre adventure story ensues. Brendan, Finney's assistent, falls in love with the businessman's ex-girlfriend, but he refuses to give her up — he is certain that Finney has made a deal with Brendan to ruin his business affairs. The speculator pretends to send his ex-girlfriend and Brendan on a long-overdue trip to America, but the car taking them to London has a bomb hidden in it...
