Wojaczek

Synopsis

Rafał Wojaczek was a rebellious poet who died prematurely like Jean Michelle Basquiat and Jim Morrison at the age of 27.
Fuelled by his self-destructive life, his poetry left a lasting impression on generations of Poles.
He drank and fought and walked through the windows. Constantly attempting suicide, he unsuccessfully hung himself and jumped from the 3rd floor. Confronting death on a daily basis, he tried to domesticate it.
Loved by women, he cared for no one, not even himself, living desperado style, only for poetry.
Conscious of the need for myth he burned his life as an offering to the mysterious reality of Poland under the communist regime.
