GUSTAV released her debut album ‚Rettet die Wale’ (‚Save the Whales’) in 2004, she received rave reviews from critics, fans and music enthusiasts alike: not only had GUSTAV breathed new life into the protest song, but, with her musical blend of melancholic and tender multi-lingual pop melodies, live instruments and avant garde laptop electronic beats, she had also discovered an infectious music style with subversive content. Verlass die Stadt’ (‚Leave the city’), the second album from this exceptional artist, is set to be released on Chicks on Speed Records at the beginning of May and the first listening was so outstanding that we immediately had to book GUSTAV’s concert as a live event in this space, with support from Elise Mory and Oliver Stotz.
