Not until 1881, when his mentor Nikolai Rubinstein died suddenly, did he put aside his objections. To mark the 125th anniversary of Tchaikovsky’s death, Roland Greutter, the first concertmaster of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, and the cellist Christopher Franzius join forces with the Ukrainian pianist Georgiy Dubko to perform the monumental piano trio.
