Pianist Emre Yazuv was born in Izmir in Turkey and made a name for himself at the age of 11 when he was named »Best Interpreter of Contemporary Music« at a piano competition. Since then he has studied under Fazil Say and won First Prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics in 2017. For his recital in the »Teatime Classics« series, Yazuv has put together a challenging programme that ranges from the Baroque to Schubert, and from Chopin to the Turkish composer Ahmed Adnan Saygun.Domenico Scarlatti’s sonatas and Sergei Rachmaninov’s preludes call for great dexterity, while a nocturne by Chopin is infused with soulful melody – as indeed is a piano arrangement of the Schubert lied »Des Fischers Liebesglück«.
