2003 was the year in which Antje Pfundtner gained international recognition for her solo work EIGENSINN (STUBBORNNESS). Six years on, and with countless ensemble pieces to her name, the Hamburg choreographer returns to the solo form with her piece TIM ACY and stands in front of the audience alone once more. She challenges the legality of the solo and devotes herself to the question of whether the fundamental intimacy of the solo is purely a strategy to win the audience’s complicity. With TIM ACY, Antje Pfundtner investigates methods of self representation and puts the readability of her character on the line. Her dancing body constantly creates new connections with the most diverse stories and with a great deal of self-mockery she remembers how much or how little truth a performance can tolerate. A theatrical piece in which aesthetic clichés of contemporary dance form the starting point for a discussion on verbal and physical vocabulary.
