Kampnagel - K1

Duration: 17.00-18.00

Event location

The lecture deals with the difference between empirical reality and the “Real”, in the sense of Jacques Lacan: Empirically tangible reality is oftentimes a world of images, while the Real is what resists the Symbolic and Imaginary. Dance stands in a special relationship to the Real. Véronique Fabbri examines this issue using the figure of Medea and the seminal interpretation of the figure by Okwui Okpokwasilis in the piece ‘Pent-Up!’.
